Fees and Pricing Structure
Why don’t you take insurance?
1
Great question. Insurance companies have access your therapy notes, including treatment plans, and session documentation. In order to best protect my client’s privacy, I am not currently accepting insurance.
Can you provide a superbill?
2
Yes! This is something I’m happy to do. I can produce a superbill for you each month which you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement for out-of-network providers.
Payment is due at the time of service and I cannot guarantee your insurance company will reimburse any of your fee.
So what is your fee?
3
I use a Community Care Fee Model based on the Green Bottle Method for sliding scale developed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk.
Below is a more detailed explanation of how I’ve adapted this fee model to my practice. This sliding scale is offered in lieu of insurance to help make therapy more attainable across socio-economic privileges.
Community Care Fee Model
Tier 1: Sliding Scale
Individual: $50-80
Relational: $100
This tier is for those who struggle to maintain access to basic needs such as health care, housing, food, child care, and are living paycheck to paycheck.
Tier 1 spaces are currently full.
Tier 2: Reduced Fee
Individual: $105
Relational: $125
This rate recognizes that some people may be struggling to conquer debt or build savings but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc.
Limited spaces available.
Tier 3: Standard Rate
Individual: $145
Relational: $165
This rate reflects the true cost of service and helps support tier 1 and 2.
This tier is for those with financial security, own property or have personal savings. If you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, this price is for you.
When choosing a tier, consider the highest tier you can sustainably afford without causing financial strain. This trust-based model supports fair access to therapy across the community while ensuring long-term practice viability.
Please be mindful that if you request a price at the lowest end of the scale when you can truthfully afford the higher ticket prices, you are limiting access to those who truly need financial flexibility. Being honest with yourself and your financial situation when engaging with sliding scale practices grows strong and sustainable communities.
